Here's what we were working with - overgrown beds, weedy edges, an old black mailbox on a worn post, and a side bed that hadn't been touched in years. The bones of the yard were fine. But the landscaping was doing nothing for the property. That's a pretty common starting point for us on jobs like this.

The plan was straightforward: rip out what wasn't working, clean everything up, and put in a layout that would actually hold up without constant upkeep. We cleared the existing beds, brought in clean granite rock, and set steel edging along the borders to keep the lines sharp. Steel edging is one of those details that makes a real difference long-term - it doesn't rot, it doesn't shift around, and it keeps the grass out of the beds without having to fight it every season.

New plants went in throughout the front, spaced out to give them room to fill in. We also tackled the mailbox area completely - pulled the old setup, installed a new wood post and mailbox, and surrounded it with matching granite rock and a few small plants to tie it into the rest of the landscaping. It sounds like a small thing, but the mailbox is one of the first things anyone sees when they pull up to a house.

The result is a yard that looks intentional. Clean lines, consistent materials, and nothing that's going to turn into a maintenance headache. That's the goal on every landscaping job we do - build something that looks sharp now and stays that way with minimal effort from the homeowner.
